Open Enrollment ends July 13, 2010!

We would like to update all staff on the changes to our insurance benefits package.  We have just completed the negotiations with the insurance companies for our plan year which goes into effect August 1, 2010. 

Highlights of the plan changes are as follows:

  • For this next plan year, we will be renewing our medical insurance with United Healthcare.  Our medical coverage remains the same, including the two-tiered plan with Base and Buy-up options.  However, premiums increased more than we had hoped they would for the coming year. The premium increases have been shared equally between the company and employees.
  • Dental coverage, we are continuing our same coverage through United Healthcare.  We were pleased with the small increase in dental coverage costs.
  • Our Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan is unchanged.  The maximum limit on the Medical/Dental/Vision FSA remains $1,500. 
  • Our life insurance coverage and voluntary life coverage remains the same.

Please read the below attachment outlining the benefits and what, if any, actions are required on your part. All the forms that you need can be downloaded from the Portal (http://portal.highmarkcompanies.com/benefits).  If you would like to change your policy, complete all the necessary forms and return them to Denise Byrd in the Raleigh office no later than July 13, 2010.
